Displays the date in Arabic, with the day of week, AND simultaneously displays the date in a language of your choice. The date in the selected language may be copied to the clipboard for pasting in a word processor, etc. Has two locations for you to enter to calculate sunrise/sunset, one for home base and one for traveling. Displays sunrise/sunset as a menu choice. No more hunting for a sunrise/sunset table during the Fast! Rolls over the Bahá'í date at either a) midnight, b) sunset, or c) a time of your choice. It will permit a wide range of desktop appearance schemes (font style and sizes); can be resized to suit you. It is a small display on your desktop. Independent of font size and style on your desktop. Does not display in the taskbar, so there is no clutter from it. When Day Star is minimized, it appears only as an icon in the system tray, not on the taskbar or on the desktop. Displays the selected language date on a System Tray icon if the mouse is paused over it. It saves stuff like where you last put the dialog boxes, and what size they are, and other settings like your choice of date rollover, language, etc. Does not affect settings on your computer. Comes as a simple installation package for which you can change the installation folder. Installs only itself, no other files, and requires no other files to be resident on your computer. Should work in Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP and NT4. It contains updated Help about the Bahá'í calendar. If all the calendar-related Help boxes are displayed simultaneously, they provide a fairly good overview of the Bahá'í calendar. The download is about 524K.

- Corrected several days per year when the date conversion failed and displayed error boxes on the screen every second.
- Corrected error when the last three months of the year would be incorrectly chosen.
- Added web references for related sunrise/sunset and location sites.
- Removed automatic replacement of Day Star configuration files if there is a version mismatch. Should the need arise in the future to change the file format, Day Star will save existing information if possible.
- Replaced non-portable characters in the help dialogs. Hopefully, there will be no more of those annoying little bars in the help dialogs.
- Now calculates sunrise/sunset each time that the option is selected. Prior versions calculated sunrise/sunset at startup, and if Day Star was left running for more than 24 hours, it would not calculate a new time for sunrise/sunset.
- There are more updates planned for this year, so stay tuned!
Installation notes
In particular, please note that you may select the destination for the program or menu items by selecting Advanced Options Installation. If you select a new destination folder, you will have to add something like "Day Star" to the end.
For your convenience, please close Day Star if it is running and uninstall the older version (or at least end the program if it is running) before installing this version. If Day Star is running when this installation takes place, then Day Star will be updated the next time your system is rebooted.
